About Food Trucks

A food truck, mobile kitchen, pushcart, mobile canteen, or catering truck is a mobile venue that sells food.

  • A motorized food truck has an engine to power the transmission/wheels in which food is prepared and served.
  • A food trailer is pulled by another source of power, and if they contain an engine, or generator, in which food is prepared and served.
  • A mobile food cart is a rubber-wheeled mobile pieces of equipment or vehicle from which foods (primarily hot dogs) are prepared, proportioned and individually pre-wrapped at a restaurant or commissary.

Food trucks are inspected by the Guilford County Department of Public Health.
