Council Approved Two Month Downtown Pilot Program for Food Trucks

Last night City Council approved a TWO month Food Truck Pilot Program for Downtown Greensboro. The program will take place Commerce Place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. weekdays in October and November. An application will be released the middle of next week for trucks interested in taking part of the program. Food truck operators have until Sept. 27 to submit an application to the city’s Economic Development and Small Business Office in order to participate. Each vendor will pay $20 a day to participate.

Special thanks to all who stuck it out through a lengthy City Council meeting last night to speak on behalf of the effort. Alexa Bird , Donovan McKnight, Marianne Legreco, John Jones, Greg Munning, Diane Ziegler (who announced that the Downtown Residents Association are 80% in favor of trucks!), Arthur Erickson, Sam Shumaker and Luck Davidson – thank you, thank you!
